The intimate experience of the body in the eighteenth century: between interiority and exteriority.

چکیده
Inspired by the recent literature on the history of the body, this article takes as a premise that the body is to be considered as an historical object and should not be envisioned as a universal entity, determined by nature and supposedly transcending temporal and geographical boundaries. It will be studied in this paper as an unstable, constructed phenomenon, inseparable from the cultural context in which it is born, grows, decays and dies. Furthermore, we argue for an historicization of the body that does not limit itself to representations
